Summer 24' Mixed Case
GOOD FOR
- The Saint - A perfectly offbeat Viognier
- The Forest - A silky and robust Pinot Noir
- The Red One - A Subtle but not at all shy Chardonnay
- Little Monster Vol V - A uplifting and exuberant Syrah Rosé
An opulent, generous and perfectly offbeat Viognier, a wine like waking up from the dreamiest slumber to a piece of very, very good news.
This wine is charismatic and compelling from the jump, with the kind of nose you could spend the rest of your life contemplating: almondine and intoxicatingly perfumed, but with a savoury, almost sherry-esque umami backbone.
The palate is a baroque symphony of sweet miso, dried apricot, condensed milk and cognac-macerated pear. This is a wine that could pair with just about anything– duck a l’orange, Moroccan chicken tagine, and Manchego cheese are merely a few options that come to mind, but we urge you to think outside the box– this is a challenging, complex wine that is absolutely up to the task.
GOOD FOR —
- Sipping digestif-style while reading classics in the library of an extravagant château
- Time-travelling to turn-of-the-century Vienna or Prague for an affair with a tortured poet
- Pairing with one of Beethoven’s odd-numbered symphonies
- An epic autumn sunset over the Pacific ocean
A delicate yet decadent Chardonnay, subtle but not at all shy– like meeting a cool stranger at a party who you find out several days later is a hyper-accomplished scholar with an endless list of shockingly impressive credentials, this is a wine that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.
Barrel-aged for six months, the texture is glossy and luxurious, like spending an entire glorious day lounging unapologetically in satin bed sheets. The nose is fruity and bright, like a refreshing cup of mango gelato. The palate continues along with a similarly tropical disposition, backed up by a dash of hazelnut cream and an understated whiff of rose oil. Balanced acidity cuts through the honeyed full body like a shooting star, finishing up with a lingering note of dreamy, moreish vanilla bean. Drink at a romantic twilit dinner in late summer, ideally surrounded by a plentiful amount of votive candles and a plate of buttery, soul-warming sole en papillote.
GOOD FOR —
- Stargazing on a crystal-clear August evening
- Pairing with a black velvet suit and all the diamonds
- Listening to Lana Del Rey poolside in Palm Springs
- Accompanying a lavish bubble bath in an immaculate marble bathroom
This is a silky and robust Pinot Noir that you just want to curl up inside– the perfect wine to compliment a cozy and romantic night in. On the richer side for a Pinot, its body is dense and layered with plush, velvety tannins. Like walking into the warmth of a candlelit cabin after a late-night wintry wander, the deep plummy nose is inviting, comforting even– the only place you truly want to be.
The palate drinks like the finest ninety percent dark chocolate bar you ever tasted, rife with woodsy, ancestral depth. Despite the intensity of dried cherry and cranberry fruit, the wine is still bone-dry, and closes out with a spicy, structured finish, echoed by a swirl of chewy caramel like a cheeky wink to say goodbye. Pair with slow-braised osso bucco, roasted root vegetables, and a game of after-dinner chess so riveting you’ll be reminiscing about it for years.
GOOD FOR —
- Slow-dancing by the fireplace in matching monogrammed pajamas
- Hosting a Humphrey Bogart film festival in a dim-lit attic
- Fuelling a late night walk through the midwinter quiet of the West Village
- Pairing with a clandestine slice of chocolate cake- eaten standing up in the kitchen, of course
This uplifting and exuberant rosé of Syrah brings its breezy seaside energy to any situation. This wine gives springtime freshness even in the deepest depths of winter, and has the mystical ability to turn your unkempt living room into the chicest coastal patio of your dreams.
The nose enchants, like an irresistible mess of ripe strawberries, juicy peaches and freshly-whipped cream. The palate, while just as delectable, exudes a coolness and clarity: think poached quince, seasoned with a healthy squeeze of pink grapefruit. Linear acid and buttery-soft texture create the perfect balance of food-friendly and unabashedly crushable.
This rosé longs to be enjoyed with a chilled lobster roll (mayo, not butter) and your favourite pair of beat-up white Converse.
GOOD FOR —
- White linen picnics in a strawberry patch
- A paper cone of seaside fritto misto, eaten with a tiny wooden fork
- Relaxing on your couch with a pint of gelato after the hardest spin class of your life
- A moment of delicious solitude, alone on the front porch at a high-stress family gathering
